Range

The range of a vehicle is dictated by the battery capacity, driving style and temperature. Just like a petrol or diesel vehicle, range is reduced is you drive fast or uneconomically. For further details, see Range Explained.

The official (NEDC) range is 106 miles, but in real life this is typically around 80-90 miles in the summer, if driven economically. Range is reduced in winter to around 50-70 miles, but this does depend on the temperature and heating use.

The range you can achieve with a full battery (approx 20kWh) at different average driving economies is:

  • 4.5 mpkWh (super efficient city driving) = 90 miles

  • 4.0 mpkWh (efficient summer driving) = 80 miles

  • 3.8 mpkWh (average driving) = 76 miles

  • 3.2 mpkWh (efficient winter driving) = 64 miles

  • 2.8 mpkWh (very cold winter driving) = 56 miles

Charging

This van has both AC charging and DC rapid charging. The rapid charging is via a 50kW Chademo port at the rear. Public rapid chargers are found in motorway service stations, petrol stations, IKEA, Lidl stores and some roadside locations. You get a charge (to 80%) in around 20-25 minutes.
The AC charging is via a type1 (J1772) port at the front, which charges at 3.6kW/16A. AC chargers are what you find in car parks, roadside locations, shopping centres, workplace and home wall chargers. At 3.6kWh, you'll add about 15 miles of range per hour of charging.
You can also charge from a standard 240V mains socket using a portable charger cable (often called a granny cable). These charge at 2.3kW/10A and add about 10 miles per hour of charging.
Charging would typically be overnight or top-ups between trips, when the van is not in use.

Charge times (from empty) are approx:

  • 25 mins to 80% on a 50kW DC rapid charger

  • 7 hours to 100% on a 7kW AC charger

  • 9 hours to 100% on a 2.3kW portable charger

The van comes with both a type1 to type 2 AC charge cable and a portable charger (granny cable).

Battery

22.5kWh lithium-ion battery, of which around 20.5kWh is usable. The battery is owned.
It is not possible to test the battery health on these vans as the battery management system does not report the state of health. However, these packs will typically last the life of the vehicle and only loose around 1% per year or less.

Condition

This van is still in very good condition and everything works without faults or errors. Watch the video above for a full review of the condition.

The tyre treat depths: Front both new 9.0mm, rears 8.9 & 3.4mm.

New tyres typically are 6.5-7.5mm tread depth. The legal limit is 1.6mm.

MoT

The current MoT expires 25/07/20201.
