Date of registration: 13/03/2015

Mileage: 77,623 (this may increase slightly)

Range

The range of a vehicle is dictated by the battery capacity, driving style and temperature. Just like a petrol or diesel vehicle, range is reduced is you drive fast or uneconomically. For further details, see Range Explained.

The official range (using the NEDC test cycle) is 118 miles. However in the real world, it is around 85-95 miles in the summer, with efficient driving. Range is always less in the winter due to colder temperatures and heating use and can be up to 25% less.

Charging

The e-Golf has two charging ports behind the flap on the offside rear wing, for both AC and DC charging.

The rapid charging is via a 44kW CCS port. Public rapid chargers are found in motorway service stations, petrol stations, IKEA, Lidl stores and some roadside locations. You get a charge (to 80%) in around 30 minutes.

The AC charging is via a type2 port, which charges at 3.7kW/16A. AC chargers are what you find in car parks, roadside locations, shopping centres, workplace and home wall chargers. You'll add about 12 miles of range per hour of charging.

You can also charge from a standard 240V mains socket using a portable charger cable (often called a granny cable). These charge at 2.3kW/10A and add about 10 miles per hour of charging.

Charge times (from empty) are approx:

  • 30 mins to 80% on a 50kW DC rapid charger

  • 7.5 hours to 100% on a 7kW AC charger

  • 12 hours to 100% on a 2.3kW portable charger

The car comes with the type2 to type2 charging cable for connection to a home wall charger or public charging post.

Battery

24.2kWh lithium-ion battery, with a usable capacity of around 20.5kWh. Battery is owned. It isn't possible to see the battery state of health on the e-Golf as the BMS doesn't report it. All indications are that this battery is still as good as new and high mileage examples will see less than 1% battery degradation per year.

Condition

The car is in good condition inside and out. Everything works as it should do without any faults. Watch the video above for a full review of the condition and study the photographs in the gallery. Two new front tyres just fitted (Dunlop Sport BluResponse, as they are the quietest and lowest rolling resistance tyre you can get in this size) .

The tyre tread depths are: Fronts new 7.8mm, rears 5-6mm.

New tyres typically are 6.5-7.5mm tread depth. The legal limit is 1.6mm.

Warranty

From new, the e-Golf has a 8 year/99,360 miles warranty on the traction battery and 3 years/60,000 miles on the rest of the car.

Therefore, the manufacturer's warranty cover on the battery pack is to 12/03/2023. From the date of delivery, the vehicle will also have a comprehensive 3 month warranty from Go Green Autos, with roadside recovery.
