The range of a vehicle is dictated by the battery capacity, driving style and temperature. Just like a petrol or diesel vehicle, range is reduced is you drive fast or uneconomically. For further details, see Range Explained.
The official (NEDC) range is 110 miles, but in real life this is typically around 80 miles in summer if driven efficiently. As with all EVs, the range is reduced in the winter due to the cold. Cold winter range can be up to 25% lower, depending on heating use.
With the battery on this one still being at 96% SOH, the range of this van should be considerably better than others at this age and with efficient driving, should still be around 80-90 miles in the summer.
The Kangoo vans have a 16A/3.6kW type1 AC charger with no rapid charging facility. Charging is typically overnight or top-ups between trips. A full charge (from 0-100%) takes around 5-6 hours on a 7kW wall charger and up to 9 hours when using a portable charger on a normal 3-pin mains socket.
A type2 to type1 charging cable is included for connecting to a home/workplace/public chargers.
A 10A portable charger (often called a 'granny cable') can also supplied with this van. See portable charger loan for further information.
22kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery is leased and therefore guaranteed for life. See below for further information on this.
The battery state of health is currently (04/09/2020) at 96%.
RCI (i.e. Renault Finance) are now giving Kangoo ZE owners the opportunity to purchase their 22kWh batteries, so the new owner has the choice to continue to lease the battery or purchase it and own it outright. The cost would be around £2,500 and the price will reduce as the vehicle gets older.
This van is in excellent condition and above average condition for its age. There's just a few cigarette burns to the seats, but absolutely no odour whatsoever in the cabin. Watch the video above and study the photos for a detailed review on the condition.
The tyre tread depths are approx: Front 6.2mm & 5.8mm, rear 6.5mm & 6.0mm, spare 7.6mm.New tyres typically are 6.5-7.5mm tread depth. The legal limit is 1.6mm.
This electric van is exempt from MoT tests (see MoT tests & electric vehicles for further details). The last MoT expired 22/05/2019 and was done at 28,807 miles. There's no legal requirement for further tests, however a new MoT can be done before delivery if required.
This Kangoo comes with a service history report from the lease company. A recent service was done on 25/03/2020 at 30,614 with a new cabin filter, air conditioning re-gas and a new 12V battery.
The service intervals on a Kangoo ZE are every 2 years or 25,000 miles. Servicing on these is little more than a cabin filter change and an inspection. Full details of the Kangoo maintenance schedule can be found on the Renault Kangoo ZE guide page.
